Vocal Encounters

Singing is one of the oldest forms of musical expression. The voice is arguably the most versatile instrument in existence and its presence can be found across the entire spectrum of musical styles. With the plethora of talent shows sweeping our television screens there has never been a better time to learn to sing.

Sing Up!

Vocal encounters brings an exciting new element to voice training. The main focus of the course is on popular music with the essential elements of Jazz and Classical styles to provide the broadest possible foundation. Anyone of nine or older can enrol and classes consist of up to 12 people.

Do it Your Way

Activities include lead vocals, backing vocals, harmony singing and even improvisation. All prepared with warm-up exercises and singing to great backing tracks to enhance your enjoyment.

Breathe In

Our methods place a great deal of emphasis on vocal training and development - how to train and care for the voice mechanism and protect it from damage. The warm-ups involve a multitude of techniques including phrasing, tone and breath control.

Behind the Scenes

You will obviously learn the fundamentals of music theory and if you already play an instrument then training on self accompaniment will be given.

On Stage

As Vocal Encounters is primarily geared towards popular music a series of related issues are covered. These include stage presence and microphone techniques.
