Anyone can Sing or Play! Yamaha music schools have been around for 50 years now and in the UK since 1976. We have a wide variety of courses covering a number of musical disciplines. There are courses to suit all levels of abilities and age ranges from complete beginners to aspiring professionals. The Yamaha technique teaches students to read music, play by ear, perform, compose, arrange and improvise. It will provide students the basis to play any keyboard instrument they choose: Church organ, piano, synthesizer, harpsichord etc.. Home Play For children of school age this means that you can have up to forty four lessons per year built around the academic calendar which means that your playing does not interfere with your general education. In fact learning to sing or play an instrument within a group structure can help assist the whole learning process as well as help to relieve the stresses and strains of your education. The course materials mean that you can take the CD's home and experience the same backing as you did during your lesson. You can practise to the sound of a virtual band. You will not forget the sound of the music. You can continue the fun and the more fun you have - the more you will practise! Play with Friends Typically classes cater for between 6 and 10 students. In every lesson students get the opportunity to play together. Not only is this highly motivational, it is also critical to developing the the ability to listen and interact with the performance of other students. Structured Courses to suit all levels of student! Every new student is carefully assessed so that they can join a group which is appropriate to their musical development. The structured course material should ensure steady progress. Teacher Training At Yamaha all the teachers are experienced musicians who receive rigorous training before they undertake classes. In addition to initial training they also receive on-going training to ensure that that both their teaching practises and methods are up to date. Qualifications All our courses support music in the National Curriculum and many adhere to the requirements of the National Qualifications Framework which means that you gain qualifications in GCSE AS/A levels which can even count to your as UCAS points for entry into universities.
